About The Owl

The house sleeps between 8 and 10 people in 5 or 6 bedrooms.

The house is large and comfortable, and has everything you need for your stay. It is not 5-star accommodation however. We describe it as 'a well-loved and favourite pair of slippers' - the ones you relax in. The Owl has a magical quality and once you've stayed, we hope you'll want to come back again.

If you're after a holiday house where everything matches and with new fixtures and fitting - then we politely suggest you might want to look elsewhere.

If you're after a holiday house that has a great location, access to a super beach, great views, plenty of space and a lovely feel - then The Owl could be the house for you!

The first floor...

The showpiece of the house is the sitting room - with its magnificent views over the garden and the sea. The bay window has a table and chairs so you can enjoy the view, and doors lead out to the balconies. In cooler months you'll want to sit round the huge brick fireplace.

Next door is the dining room, with a large wooden table, and seating for six to eight. You can set up another table in here too so everyone can eat together.

The kitchen has everything you need - gas range cooker, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, toaster and a walk-in pantry. Off the kitchen is a balcony overlooking the front of the house, and an outside staircase leading down to the driveway.

There is one double (with a sea view) and one single bedroom on the first floor with a bathroom/WC.

The ground floor...

Through the front door, you arrive into a large reception hall with the wooden staircase to the first floor.

On the ground floor, you'll also find a double bedroom, twin room, single room and the 'garden room' with a sofa bed that can be used as a further double bedroom. Please note that this is a through room to the garden.

There's a further bathroom, separate WC and shower room with WC on this floor as well as a utility room with washing machine, tumble drier and fridge.

A door off the hall leads through to the garage, which can fit a small car and has plenty of space for bikes, surf boards, wet suits etc.

The store room in the garage is where you'll find garden chairs, garden games, balls, and buckets and spades.

The garden...

The large rear garden leads straight down to the promenade and onto the beach.

There are tables, benches and chairs so you can enjoy eating outside if the mood takes you.

There's also access to the garage and a staircase leading to the balcony on the first floor.

The loft...

For excellent views over the sea, the South Downs and the rest of the Summerley Estate, head up to the loft room. This was added by the army during the Second World War as a look-out post and is a great place to escape to for some peace and quiet.

The balcony on the roof runs all around the house.

You can access the loft via a pull down ladder from the hall.

While this is a great space, it's not that suitable for young children.
